I'm asking because I see this gutiar for sell dirt cheap on the internet. If it's made in Japan it's a good deal, right? We can't know if it's a 'good deal' or not because we don't know the selling price. Most Japanese Aria Pros aren't worth that much money on the resale market, particularly the bolt-on neck types. The Arias with set-neck and thru-neck construction are more desirable but still 'sleepers' as they often sell for about $300. The pictures look like a generic strat copy, nothing too special, and probably not worth more than $100 or so, in my opinion. That's the thing though.the neck plate doesn't look right to me.all the (early) MIJ one's I've seen and the one I have, either say Matsumoku then the serial number then Made in Japan.

Or have Aria Pro II written straight across with 'accurate bolt system' sometimes written under that then serial number then Made in Japan. That one has Aria on an angle.doesn't have a serial number (big sign right there) and that doesn't say Made in Japan. I zoomed it in and it says something like Aria & co (can't make out the last part) and then just 'Japan' under that. Red flags all around. My guess is that if it is an aria it's a later made in Korea model. 20 euro's is cheap sure.but there is a reason why. That's the thing though.the neck plate doesn't look right to me.all the (early) MIJ one's I've seen and the one I have, either say Matsumoku then the serial number then Made in Japan.

Enter Aria Guitars. English Japanese. Aug 22, 2004  Aria Mandolin - Made in Japan - Value? The internal label is in place but I don't remember the model number, and the 'Made in Japan' sticker is in place on back of the headstock. I do know that the inside label shows a place for a serial number, but there is not one printed.I thought this was unusual. Thanks for your reply.

Either way the seller hasn't respond yet, it's not a good sign because if I buy the thing it would have to be sight unseen.

Here is a bit of information I found while searching for information about my Aria (Ariana) A570 Classical Guitar, which you Aria owners may find beneficial. By the way, I still don't the actual age of mine.

In the mid 70's, serial numbers began to be used. At least for Aria guitars, made by Matsumoku, the serial number contains the year of manufacture in the first 2 digits, thus a guitar from 1979 would have a serial number, such as 79####. The manufacturing of Aria guitars were subcontracted out to Matsumoku from 1964 to 1986. Rumor has it, although I can't find confirmation, that the Indonesian factory was thought to be to be an Indonesian 'slave' factory).

If anyone has information on the age of the A570, I'd appreciate it. My A570 sounds better than my Yahama C70. Related Instruments. I just acquired a Mdl. # 00144 and if yours is anything like mine its well worth fixing. Use only a reputable luthier(for the bridge to'fall' off typically means that it got heated to 150 degrees F.
