You might be able to get low latency on a soundblaster. But you need to set your asio driver under Devices>Devices set up> the go to Multitrack and youll see Multimedia Asio driver. You need to select your sound cards asio driver. Then set your latency to 5 or so and it should be fine depending on your comp.

Im running cubase sx 3 right now, and i got my korg z1 and a Triton hooked up to it and both keyboards will record fine by themselves. But when i pull up a vsti, Reaktor in particular or Battery 2 and use my korg z1 as the midi controller for them! I will hit the record button and play the notes on the korg z1, the midi notes will show up at the specific section i recorded them at, and everything appears to look fine. However when i play back the recorded section it either plays with such horrible delay or just sort of clips! I have searched quite awile trying to find a fix for this problem recently on here and the cubase.net forum and other places. Unfortunatly I'm finding no solutions to this problem. I have always found answer's to my question on this board by just doing alittle searching but could use alittle help here. I though I read somewhere that service pack 2 might have some negative effect on performance? I know a few of you out there use these motu 828's, has anyone experienced strange phenomena's like this occur? Thanks to anyone who decides to help!

Button, top-left on the arrange page looks like a clock and says Constrain Delay Compensation when you hover over it Also, check in Devices, Device setup (in SX too) VST Audiobay - make sure the ASIO driver is selected in the drop down menu, and try it with and without Direct Monitoring Most likely the problem's here though go into Expert (same page as before) and check Adjust for Record Latency is ticked there's a number underneath it, like Record Placement Offset - set that to 0 - but if you're still getting problems, try reducing it and see if they change. If they get worse, try increasing it. Sorry my friend no success, should the Constrain Delay Compensation be lit red or not red? Even though I already tried both ways. Also.In my VST Audiobay the ASIO driver which is selected in the drop down menu is the Motu Firewire Audio driver, and I also tried the option of Direct Monitoring enabled and unenabled.
