Kimber Of Oregon Model 82 Description.22 Long Rifle with 22 1/4 inch barrel. Grooved receiver for scope mounting. Detachable magazine. Serial number 78xxx.
Before production began, Kimber founder Greg Warne and fellow firearms enthusiast Lou Leonard arrived at the name 'Super America' while on a flight to the Las Vegas gun show. This information is even printed in the booklet 'Kimber Enthusiasts & Collectors Manual' (the booklet itself is not included in this auction). In gratitude for this contribution, Mr. Leonard recieved this rifle and was allowed to pick the wood, etc. The shipping box is marked with Mr. Leonard's shipping information and a letter (please see last photo) also documents this interesting history.
